Carl Sagan once said “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” He is exactly correct when dealing with something moving from scientific theory to natural law. For instance, Nicolaus Copernicus had an extraordinary claim for his day called Heliocentrism. It was absolute heresy to say that the earth revolved around the sun in 1543! The establishment frowned upon this and his work was banned. Sad thing is it wasn’t really accepted until the 19th century. Over the course of time we’ve discovered that the sun doesn’t revolve around us, the galaxy doesn’t revolve around our sun and believe it or not we are not the center of the damn universe. As a matter of fact more than likely we are not the only universe. We exist in a multiverse.

If it were not for men like Copernicus that challenged belief for a seemingly wacked out notion, we would still all be sitting here with our thumb up our collective ass thinking we are the center of the whole damn thing. Have you ever seen the movie Catch Me If You Can? It’s loosely based on the real life autobiography of a man named Frank Abagnale Jr. Now a security consultant, Frank was a conman, check forger, document forger, impostor and escape artist.

In the 1960s Frank forged over $2 million in checks in 26 countries over a 5 year time frame starting when he was only 16. Most of which were Pan-Am checks seeing  as how his favorite con was posing as a Pan-Am pilot. He deadheaded over 1 million miles on over 250 flights. As a “pilot” he was also able to get everything from food to hotels on his little excursions all on Pan-Am’s dime.

The Shadow People (also known as shadow figures, shadow beings, shadow men,  shadow folk, shadow ghosts) are supernatural  shadow-like figures described as dark humanoid  forms or evasive specters that are seen mostly in peripheral vision.

Shadow people are typically described as black humanoid silhouettes  with no discernible mouths, noses, or facial expressions, child-sized humanoids, or shapeless masses that sometimes change to human like form and featuring eyes that are either glowing or not discernible.  Their movement is said to be quick and disjointed.

It’s a common problem on investigations involving actual paranormal activity. Your brand new Duracell is so toast! The widely accepted theory is that entities require energy to manifest themselves either by sight, sound or touch. And what better source than your nice and compact energy cell.

So bring extra batteries. Plus it’s always good practice to start every investigation with a brand new set. I know it’s not the most cost effective thing to do but it does ensure that you are ready to go when the time comes.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically, to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations.

Schizophrenics may have a variety of symptoms. Usually the illness develops slowly over months or even years. At first, the symptoms may not be noticeable. For example, you may feel tense, or have trouble sleeping or concentrating. You can become isolated and withdrawn, and have trouble making or keeping friends.

As the illness continues, psychotic symptoms develop:

An appearance or mood that shows no emotion (flat affect)
Bizarre motor behavior in which there is less reaction to the environment (catatonic behavior)
False beliefs or thoughts that have nothing to do with reality (delusions)
Hearing, seeing, or feeling things that are not there (hallucinations)

White noise is a random signal (or process) with a flat power spectral density. In other words, the signal contains equal power within a fixed bandwidth at any center frequency. White noise draws its name from white light in which the power spectral density of the light is distributed over the visible band in such a way that the eye’s three color receptors (cones) are approximately equally stimulated.

The word Ouija comes from the French “oui” and German “ja” also known as a spirit board or talking board. It is a flat board marked with letters, numbers, and other symbols, used to communicate with spirits. It uses a planchette, a small heart-shaped object, or movable indicator to indicate the spirit’s message by spelling it out on the board during a séance. The fingers of those participating are placed on the planchette which moves about the board to spell out messages.

Pareidolia a.k.a. “Matrixing” is a psychological phenomenon where the brain receives a random stimulus and is interpreted as something familiar. A good example is the famous “Horse Head Nebula” found in the constellation Orion.

Carl Sagan once said that this is an evolutionary byproduct of our species. We are “hard-wired” from birth to be able to identify a human face. This allows us to interpolate random patterns as being identifiable. Much like an ink blot test. This gives us the advantage to be able to assess threats in split seconds and act accordingly.
